The Festival

Collaboration with Sasha Li

This piece was made in collaboration with fiction writer Sasha Li’s story “Omatsuri”, which translates to festival. I chose watercolour as my medium and drew flying fish to mimic the dreamy atmosphere in the story. I also used a fox max for the fox child to express the anonymity of the main characters. Sasha and I chose to collaborate on this project together as we come from the same background (Japanese/Chinese mix) and used to attend the same Japanese school.
